POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's and women's basketball teams will both hold their annual Red/White scrimmages on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at McCann Arena. The teams will alternate periods on the court in the scrimmages.

The scrimmages are free and open to the public. Seating will be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Marist Red Fox Club will also open the Red Fox Den during the scrimmages for all those in attendance. Complimentary food will be served, and beverages will be available for purchase. 

The Red Fox Den is located on the second floor of the McCann Center and is open to Red Fox Club members during pregame, halftime and postgame of all Marist basketball games.  The Den's lounge atmosphere features fan seating, four flat screen HD televisions, a bar and food options during specified games.   

During the Red/White Scrimmages, Men's Head Coach Chuck Martin and Women's Head Coach Brian Giorgis will address the crowd and give some insight on their respective teams.  Players will also be accessible to fans on the night of the event.     

The Marist women's basketball team officially opened practice on Tuesday, Oct. 2. The men's team will hold its first official practice on Friday, Oct. 12. Both teams will open the 2012-13 season at McCann Arena on Friday, Nov. 9. The women will host Vermont at 6 p.m. in a contest which will be broadcast on ESPN3, with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Awards Show airing live from the arena beginning at 5:15. The men will then face Stony Brook at 9 p.m. McCann Arena will be cleared between games, and admission to each game will require a separate ticket.
