INDIANAPOLIS – The Marist men's cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field teams earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards for their Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores.
The Public Recognition Awards are given to teams scoring in the top 10 percent of their sport with their APR scores. The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention. The most recent APR scores are multi-year rates based on the 2008-09 season through the 2011-12 academic years.
All three teams led the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in students named to the conference's All-Academic Team. Additionally, seniors Joel Moss (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and Chris Vanzetta (Latham, N.Y.) were named CoSIDA/Capital One First Team Academic All-District.
In all, five Marist teams received Public Recognition Awards, as women's basketball and volleyball were also honored.
