BRONX, N.Y. – The Marist women's swimming and diving team suffered a 145-93 loss against Fordham in its first non-conference dual meet of the season Oct. 23 to even its record at 1-1.
Senior Kimberly Tobias (San Jose, Calif.) earned an NCAA qualifying score of 281.70 points in the 3-meter dive. She finished with the most points in the 1-meter event at 250.95 points, which was just slightly ahead of junior Renata Diotalevi's (Madison, Conn.) score of 246.30.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Georgia Goldman (Douglaston, N.Y.), freshman Deirdre Connor (Nesconset, N.Y.), sophomore Colleen Lampe (East Setauket, N.Y.) and junior captain Bethany Powhida (Delmar, N.Y.) grabbed first place after completing the event in 3:46.01.
Sophomore Isabella Morreale (Short Hills, N.J.) won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:28.63, while Powhida placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.29).
Marist will return to McCann Natatorium for a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference meets. The Red Foxes will face Fairfield at 1 p.m. before taking on Rider at 6 p.m. Nov. 15.
