EDISON, N.J. – Junior forward Madeline Blais (Exeter, N.H) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday. It is the second time in her career she has received the honor. The MAAC honors one male and one female student-athlete each week for their accomplishments inside the classroom and on the playing field.
Blais, a 2014-14 All-MAAC First Team and 2013-14 All-MAAC Academic team selection, has gotten off to a fast start for the Red Foxes. Averaging 19.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game Blais has been a go to player and key contributor for the team. In the season opener against Delaware, Blais recorded a team high 26 points and totaled 7 rebounds. Against Northeastern Blais went 6-6 from the free throw line and recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds. Blais recorded a team high 14 points and went a perfect 4-4 from the field in the Red Foxes last outing vs. St. John's. In total Blais is a stellar 15-17 from the free throw line on the season.
The Red Foxes head to Waco, Texas for three games at the BTI Classic starting on Friday, Nov. 28 against Stetson. The Red Foxes will also take on Utah State and national powerhouse Baylor during the trip.
