POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - A new poll released today by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has the Marist men's soccer team ranked fourth overall in the Northeast.
The Red Foxes have moved up five spots in the rankings from the previous week after winning their last two games on their four-game road swing. In its two contests last week, Marist defeated Columbia 3-2 in overtime, and blanked Sacred Heart 1-0 to improve to 4-1 on the season.
In addition to being ranked fourth in the Northeast by the NSCAA, the Red Foxes are also ranked second among Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) teams, sitting just behind Siena and one spot ahead of Monmouth, who was picked first in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Marist's opponent on Tuesday, Army, is also ranked in today's poll. After a 1-0 win over Binghamton and a 0-0 tie against Quinnipiac, the Black Knights find themselves ranked 10th overall in the Northeast with a 2-1-2 record.
Tonight's Army-Marist contest will start at 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium. The game will be streamed live on the Red Fox Network.
