EDISON, New Jersey – Senior guard/forward Sydney Coffey has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. This is the second time in her career Coffey has been awarded with this honor and the second week in a row a Red Fox has been awarded Player of the Week.
Coffey led the way for Marist with 23 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the field. Coffey added four assists and three rebounds to go along with a steal in the Red Foxes lone game of the week against the Boston University Terriers, Saturday afternoon. The Red Foxes secured a 73-54 win as Coffey shot 8-for-13 from the field, 4-for-8 from behind the arc, and 3-for-3 from the free throw stripe in 32 minutes of action.
To go along with her honor from the MAAC, Coffey was also named College Sports Madness MAAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her exceptional performance during the past week's action.
The Red Foxes host Hofstra on Sunday, December 20th in McCann Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
