EDISON, N.J. - The Marist women's lacrosse team's leading scorer this season, junior Allison Gionta (Eastport, N.Y.), was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday. 

Gionta led the Red Foxes in scoring in both of their games this week. She netted a career-high six goals in a 13-7 win at Niagara on April 8 while also posting game highs with three assists and two caused turnovers. Against Monmouth on April 11, Gionta followed up by scoring five goals on six shots and posted eight points in a tight 11-10 Marist loss.

In the pair of MAAC contests, Gionta tallied 11 goals and six assists and was 2-for-4 on free position attempts. She also picked up a pair of ground balls and won two draw controls. 

The Red Foxes (7-5, 3-2 MAAC) will play their final two home games this week, hosting Siena at 4 p.m. April 15 and battling Fairfield at 1 p.m. April 18 on Senior Day.
