BOSTON, Massachusetts – The Marist men's tennis team picked up their second win of the weekend as they defeated the Boston University Terriers, 6-1, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference dual match.
The Red Foxes picked right back up where they left off after blanking Sacred Heart 5-0 in singles in the team's previous match. The three Marist pairings took each of the doubles matches to secure the doubles point for Marist and enter singles play with the advantage.
Rudolf Kurz, Justin Chanthalangsy, Fredrik Bjerke, Jan Dernic, and Dylan Fletcher all won their singles matches with Kurz, Chanthalangsy, Bjerke, and Fletcher winning in straight sets for their second match wins of the day.
Kurz defeated the Terriers Jay Leelavanich, 6-4-6-3. Chanthalangsy won against Stefan Lemire, 7-5, 6-2. Bjerke defeated Mario Sandoval, 6-3, 7-5 and Fletcher played from the sixth singles position to defeat Satyajit Simhadri, 6-1, 7-6 (3).
Up next the Red Foxes take on Fordham University in another non-conference dual match on Sunday, February 28th at 2 p.m.
