POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team held its first official practice of the 2016 season at North Field on Thursday afternoon.
Conditions were hot and extremely muggy, and practice was delayed and then cut short due to lightning in the area. It started just after 4 p.m., and lasted slightly more than an hour.
The Red Foxes' time on the field was spirited. Practice took place in helmets and no pads, and consisted of position drills, special teams work, and 7-on-7 competition.
Marist's Friday practice time at North Field has been shifted to 8:30-10:30 a.m. It will be the Red Foxes' first practice in helmets and shoulder pads. The first practice in full pads is set for Sunday, with the first double session taking place on Monday.
