POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – In its final home matches of 2017 the Marist volleyball team (12-13, 9-5 MAAC) will square off against Canisius and Niagara on Nov. 4 and 5, respectively. First serve for both matches is scheduled for 1 p.m. in McCann Arena.

Sunday's contest against the Purple Eagles will be Senior Day and the Red Foxes will honor
Kelsey Ediger,
Ashton Korona, and
Sydney Rojek in a pre-match ceremony for their dedication and commitment to the program. The ceremony and both matches will be streamed live for free on the Red Fox Network.

The Red Foxes will clinch a berth in the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships with their next victory or losses by Siena and Quinnipiac on Nov. 4. Siena will face Niagara and Quinnipiac will play Rider with matches set for 12 p.m. Saturday.

Marist fell to MAAC leader Fairfield, 3-1, in a midweek match Nov. 1. The Red Foxes' ended the Stags' 20-set winning streak, taking the second stanza of the contest. Junior

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Korona is atop the MAAC in blocks per set, averaging 1.16 per set. She jumped for a career-high 11 total blocks in Marist's last outing against the Stags and is seventh all-time in program history with 280 total blocks. Korona is looking to join Mackenzie Stephens and Heather Vir as the only Red Foxes to post top 10 single-season marks in Marist history in total blocks three separate times.Â

Canisius Golden Griffins
Â
The Golden Griffins have won four of their last five matches and are currently fifth in the MAAC standings at 8-6 and 10-14 overall.

Freshman Claire Leonard has been Canisius' go to hitter, as she leads the team with 286 kills. Sophomore Cassidy Ceriani is third in the MAAC, averaging 9.14 assists per set, and is fourth in service aces with 35.

Niagara Purple Eagles

Niagara won both of its home matches last weekend, taking down Iona and Manhattan respectively. The Purple Eagles are hanging on to second place in the MAAC at 11-3 alongside a 15-8 overall record.

Reigning MAAC Libero of the Year Rylee Hunt is leading the conference with 6.05 digs per set, a mark that is also fourth in the nation. As a whole, the Niagara defense is 18th in the country averaging 17.57 digs per set. Three Purple Eagles' setters have triple digit assists on the season, led by senior Meghan Higley (323). Â
