BUFFALO, New York – The men's swimming and diving take on day three of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Championship, finishing with 434 points and sit in second.
 
The men had a strong showing in the 200 free with Miguel Madeira leading the way with a second place finish. Murray Coueslant came in fourth and Daniel Knoll and Michael O'Donovan finished sixth and seventh.
 
A duo of freshman took the top two spots for Marist in the 400 IM. John Hurley took the bronze while Jackson Klarsfeld took fifth place. Hurley's time of 3:59.06 was good for second fastest in school history.
 
Michael Valceanu was the top finisher in the 100 fly, finishing with a time of 49.57 and placing in fifth. His time was .22 seconds away from breaking the school record.
 
The men look to finish the day out strong tomorrow. Day four will being at 10 a.m.

Preliminary
The men's strongest event came in the 200 free where all four swimmers advanced to the final round. Miguel Madeira, Daniel Knoll and Murray Coueslant finished second through fourth with Michael O'Donovan coming in sixth.
 
The 400 IM was highlighted by two freshmen, with John Hurley and Jackson Klarfeld placing second and sixth to advance to finals. Edward Oser advanced to the final round of 100 breast with a sixth place finish of 56.58 seconds.
 
Captain Robert McDowell stamped his ticket into the final 100 backstroke, finishing in fourth with a time of 50.55 seconds. Michael Valceanu and Murray Coueslant will represent the Red Foxes in the 100 butterfly, finishing fifth and eighth respectively.
