POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team is back in action this weekend with five games at the Red and Black Tournament in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

SCHEDULE
The Red Foxes will play two games North Carolina Central University and three Gardner-Webb University. There will be doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday, and one game on Sunday. The full schedule is below:

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Foxes went 2-3 at the Madeira Beach Invitational last weekend. On Friday, they fell to Villanova 10-5 and to University of Arkansas 15-3. On Saturday, they won against the University of Rhode Island 5-3. On Sunday they split the double header with a loss to Middle Tennessee 8-0, but won against the Eastern Michigan University 6-2.

Key Stats from the Madeira Beach Tournament:
- Sophomores Jade Sinskul and Ali Milam each hit their first home runs of the season.
- Freshman Caroline Baratta leads the team in total bases(11), hits(7), RBIs(4), doubles(2), and triples(1).
- Junior Megan Beiermeister threw a complete game against Eastern Michigan. She allowed only two runs while striking out five.
- Junior Kallen Leeseberg leads the team in innings pitched(9), strikeouts(9), and batting average against(.263).

AWARDS
The Red Foxes claimed two MAAC weekly awards for their efforts last weekend.
Jade Sinskul was named MAAC Player of the Week. She hit .500 (6-for-12) with a .750 slugging percentage and had two multi-hit games. She also hit her first career homer against URI.

Caroline Baratta claimed MAAC Rookie of the Week. She tallied a .438/.471/.688 triple slash line in her first collegiate tournament. In her first game against Villanova on Feb. 23, she reached base safely in all five of her plate appearances, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs, two doubles, and a walk.

SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL UNIVERSITY
The Eagles are coming off of a 2-6 weekend at the Buccaneer Invitational. Both wins came against Howard in a Friday double-header. Senior Courtney Mirabella threw complete games in both of those games, racking up 20 strikeouts(13 in game one, seven in game two). Overall, the team is hitting .216/.254/.309 and has an ERA of 3.57.

- Ava Dolan leads the team in batting average (.368), on-base percentage(.429), slugging percentage(.947), runs scored(6), triples(1), home runs(3), RBIs(8), and total bases(18).

SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB UNIVERSITY
The Runnin' Bulldogs are 10-7 this season. They played at the University of Georgia Tournament last weekend and went 1-3. Their win came against East Tennessee University, 6-3. Katie Prebble led the way with three hits(all of which were two-run homers), three runs scored, and six RBIs, while Sam Harrell threw six innings of three-run ball.
