POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Sophomore outfielder
Ali Milam of the Marist softball team was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second Team All-Northeast Region on Thursday.
Here are some highlights from Milam's 2018 season:
- Tied the program's single-season record for RBIs (54).
- Led the Red Foxes in RBIs, batting average (.355), home runs (11), total bases (103), walks (24), on-base percentage (.443) and slugging percentage (.599).
- Had a 16-game streak of reaching base, the longest for any Red Fox this season.
- Led the team with 12 multi-RBI games, including two with five (Houston Baptist, March 15; Saint Peter's, April 29) and one with six (Rider, May 6).
Last week, Milam was named
a First Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) selection. She earned two MAAC Player of the Week awards in the regular season.
The Marist softball team placed third at last week's MAAC Championship. The Red Foxes have reached the conference tournament seven of the last eight years, and captured MAAC championships in 2006, 2013, and 2016.
