POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Four women's Marist College track and field athletes have qualified for and will be attending the 2018 USA Track and Field (USATF) Junior Championships at Indiana University. This ties for the largest number of athletes sent to this event and is the largest number of female athletes from Marist that have ever participated. Freshmen

Gianna Tedeschi,
Maria Smith and
Lauren Harris will compete for the Red Foxes.

Collins is coming off a strong freshman campaign where she was named MAAC Rookie of the Year after placing second in the 5,000-meter at the MAAC Indoor Track and Field championships. She was also named to the All-MAAC and All-Rookie team in cross country as well.

Tedeschi will join Collins in the 5,000-Meter race. She placed sixth at the MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championship in the 5000 meter with a time of 17:38.90. Like Collins, she was named to the All-MAAC Rookie Team in cross country.

Maria Smith will represent the Red Foxes in the 3000 Meter race. Smith placed sixth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:00.65 at the ECAC outdoor championships, earning an All-East scoring spot.

Lauren Harris will compete in the 10,000-meter racewalk for the Red Foxes. Harris recently qualified for this year's Race Walking World Championships, finishing 22
nd. She has a shot to qualify for the Junior World Championships with a strong result from this weekend.
