Marist Softball’s 2020 Schedule Released

Red Foxes Open 53-Game Schedule On Feb. 14

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist Athletics Department has released the softball team's schedule for the 2020 season.
 
Here's a look at the upcoming season:
 
Tournaments
The Red Foxes will play in five tournaments to start the season:
 
  • Bruin Challenge: Marist will play four games in three days against Green Bay (Feb. 14 & 15), followed by Northern Kentucky and host Belmont on Feb. 16.
  • Razorback Invitational: Five games in three days against the host Razorbacks (Feb. 21 & 23), Boston University (Feb. 21), South Dakota State (Feb. 22), and Montana (Feb. 22).
  • UNC Wilmington Tournament: Five games in three days as the Red Foxes face Toledo (Feb. 28 and March 1), Robert Morris (Feb. 28 & 29), and UNC Wilmington (Feb. 29).
  • Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic: Five games in three days against Delaware State (March 6 & 7), Fairleigh Dickinson (March 6 & 8), and Texas Tech (March 7).
  • Jacksonville Tournament: Five games in three days against Eastern Kentucky (March 13), Jacksonville (March 13 & 14), and James Madison (March 14 & 15).
 
Non-Conference
  • While in Florida following the Jacksonville Tournament, Marist will face North Florida (doubleheader, March 18) and Florida Atlantic (three-game series, March 20-21).
  • After returning north, the Red Foxes' non-conference doubleheaders will take place at Hartford (April 15) and at home against Lafayette (April 29).
 
MAAC
  • Marist opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on March 28 at Iona. The Red Foxes' other MAAC road doubleheaders will be against Siena (April 29), Fairfield (April 4), Rider (April 25), and Monmouth (April 26).
  • The Red Foxes' home opener will be against Quinnipiac (April 5). Also visiting Gartland Field for MAAC doubleheaders will be Manhattan (April 11), Saint Peter's (April 18), Niagara (May 2), and Canisius (May 3).
 
MAAC Championships
  • This year's MAAC Softball Championship will take place from May 6-9, with a rain date set for May 10.
  • The team which finishes first in the MAAC regular season will earn the right to host.
 
The Marist softball team went 35-22 in 2019, and won the MAAC regular-season title. The Red Foxes have advanced to NCAA Regional play three times in program history: 2006, 2013, and 2016. The program is heading into its 12th season under the leadership of head coach Joe Ausanio.
