LA JOLLA, California - Marist water polo earned two wins and two losses at the stacked Triton Invitational to place 11th against a field of the best teams in the NCAA. On day one of competition, the Red Foxes fell to #11 UC Davis in the opening round before defeating Santa Clara that evening. On day two, the Red Foxes faced the host team, #20 UC San Diego. The Tritons were victorious 12-7, earning the win in their home pool. Marist's final match was set against #21 Cal State Northridge, and the Red Foxes pulled off the 8-7 upset in overtime to earn their second ranked win of the young season.

- Freshman Myriam Lizotte was on fire for the Red Foxes, earning a hat trick on four shots to propel the team to victory.
- Cantoni scored a goal and grabbed two steals, while Jocelyn Castro, Justine Castro and Anais Mathes recorded a goal and steal each to lift Marist over the Matadors.
- Horvatich guarded the net once again, making a stellar 10 saves for a save percentage 58.8.
- Northridge had the advantage in shots and powerplays, but Marist was able to convert on more opportunities to win the overtime matchup.
