LA JOLLA, California - The Marist water polo team will take part in the Triton Invitational, beginning tomorrow morning. Hosted by #20 UC San Diego, the tournament features teams such as #1 USC, #3 UCLA, #6 UC Irvine and many other ranked programs. With matches occurring over a two day period, the Red Foxes will play in four games against the top squads in the NCAA.

Game 1 - #25 Marist vs. #11 UC Davis - 12:20 PM EST
Game 2 - Depending on result of Game 1, Marist will play either #3 UCLA or Santa Clara that evening.
Game 3 - Depends on tournament results up to this point. Will take place early afternoon EST on Sunday.
Game 4 - Depends on tournament results. Will Take place Sunday evening.

- The Red Foxes played in the Bruno Invitational on Feb. 2.
- Marist earned a 7-4 win over #RV Brown thanks to Grace Doerfler and Susan Cantoni's two goal performances.
- Carsen Horvatich guarded the net and made 11 saves to hold off the Brown offense.
- In the second match of the day, Marist fell to #24 Bucknell, 11-7.
- Doerfler tallied two goals, an assist and a steal to pace the Red Foxes.Â
- Marina Hyham and Horvatich split time in the net, making three and five saves respectively.
- #11 UC Davis enters the tournament at 4-4 overall, having earned victories over #8T Michigan and #19 Indiana.
- In 2018, UC Davis went 18-12 and ended the season ranked #10 in the NCAA.
- The Aggies' top returner is Utility Annie Kutt, who scored 36 goals and made a team-high 48 points last year.
- Goalkeeper Caitlin Golding made 221 saves throughout the season for a save average of .459.
As previously mentioned, the Triton Invitational features a an elite field of 16 teams, with 10 programs appearing on the most recent CWPA DI Top 25 rankings, as well as the DIII #1 Pomona-Pitzer. Marist has a chance to face four teams all ranked in the top 11 of the NCAA.
