Softball Doubleheader At Quinnipiac Moved To Wednesday

Red Foxes Resume MAAC Play

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference doubleheader at Quinnipiac, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been moved to Wednesday. First pitch of game one is set for 2 p.m.

About Marist
  • The Red Foxes are 23-18 overall, and 8-2 in MAAC play. Marist tied for second place in the conference with Iona. Both teams are two games back of first-place Monmouth (one game behind in the loss column).
  • These are Marist's first games since Saturday, when the Red Foxes split a home doubleheader against Siena. After Marist captured the first game by a score of 6-0, Siena rebounded for a 5-3 victory in game two.
  • Freshman Calista Phippen leads Marist in wins (13), earned run average (1.25), strikeouts (132), innings pitched (112), complete games (11), and shutouts (five). Phippen ranks in the nation's top 50 in ERA (19th), strikeouts per seven innings (46th), and hits allowed per seven innings (50th).
  • Senior Casey Page leads the Red Foxes with a .349 batting average. Junior Ali Milam has team highs in home runs (seven) and runs batted in (35). Red-shirt junior Claire Oberdorf has a team-best 13 stolen bases.
  • Marist is 12-4 since returning from its Spring Break trip.
 
About Quinnipiac
  • The Bobcats are 13-26 overall and 4-6 in the MAAC. Quinnipiac is in a three-way for sixth place in the conference.
  • Quinnipiac was last in action on Sunday, when the Bobcats dropped both ends of a home doubleheader to Siena by scores of 4-2 and 7-1.
  • Kayla Jensen leads the Bobcats in batting average (.377) and stolen bases (16). She is tied for the team lead in runs scored (21) with Erin Larsen, who has a team-high three home runs. Rebecca Drake leads the Bobcats in RBIs (19) and doubles (13).
  • Lauren King and Kendall Brundrett each lead the pitching staff with six wins. King has a team-best 3.42 ERA, and Brundrett paces the Bobcats in innings pitched (121) and strikeouts (68).
