POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Winners of six straight games, the Marist softball team will close out the regular season this weekend with a trip to western New York. The Red Foxes (30-19 overall, 13-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) will face Canisius (14-29, 8-10) for a doubleheader on Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by two at Niagara (13-28, 9-7) on Sunday at 11 a.m.

- Marist controls its own destiny for the #1 seed in next week's MAAC Championship.
- With three wins in its four games this weekend, Marist will clinch the top seed. The Red Foxes will guarantee a top-two seed, and subsequent first-round bye, with two wins.
- The team which earns the #1 seed will host the MAAC Championship, which will run from Wednesday, May 8 through Saturday, May 11, with Sunday, May 12 available as a rain date.

- Marist's six-game winning streak is a season best. The Red Foxes are 19-5 since March 27.
