POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team reported for preseason camp on Wednesday. Student-athletes began to move in Tuesday afternoon, and the full team reported Wednesday morning.
The first day consisted of agility testing in the afternoon, with conditioning testing set for the evening. On Thursday, the team will have weight room testing and academic orientation prior to the team's first practice, which is set for a 6:30 p.m. start at North Field.
Here's a closer look at the 2019 Red Foxes:
- Marist went 5-6 overall and 5-3 in Pioneer Football League.
- The Red Foxes finished tied for fourth in league play.
- Marist will play 11 games in 2019.
- The Red Foxes open the season on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Georgetown.
- The first of Marist's six home games will come against Stetson on Saturday, Sept. 14.
- Marist will also welcome Cornell (Sept. 21), Drake (Sept. 28), Dartmouth (Oct. 19), Butler (Nov. 2), and Jacksonville (Nov. 16) to Tenney Stadium. It will be the program's first meetings with Cornell and Dartmouth.
- The Red Foxes' PFL road games will be against San Diego (Oct. 5), Davidson (Oct. 26), Dayton (Nov. 9), and Valparaiso (Nov. 23).
- Marist returns eight starters on the offensive side of the ball.
- The Red Foxes return four defensive starters.
