POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team held a scrimmage on Friday morning at Tenney Stadium.

The session consisted of four 20-minute periods with a running clock. Drives in the first half of the second period were devoted to situational football, including Red Zone, two-minute, and backed up drives.

The defense forced three-and-outs on the first two drives before the offense recorded a first down on a pass from red-shirt sophomore

Mike Arrington had the first of his two fumble recoveries in the scrimmage.

In the second period, with the offense working on a backed up on its own end drive, red-shirt sophomore safety
Kyle Fleitman returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown. Fleitman had another interception later in the period. Sophomore linebacker
Jayden Johnson had sacks on back-to-back plays in a two-minute drill situational drive.

In the third period, red-shirt freshman quarterback
Matt Edwards engineered a drive that culminated in a seven-yard touchdown run by red-shirt junior
Darryn Jordan.

With classes at Marist set to start on Monday, the scrimmage essentially ended preseason camp. The Red Foxes will undergo a regular practice next week in preparation for the team's season opener at Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 7.
