POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Running back Lincoln Cardillo of the Marist University football team is the Red Foxes' nominee for this year's Allstate American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team.
 
Cardillo has participated in numerous community activities. These include the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament, Read Across America at local elementary school, Thanksgiving Food Drive at the Marist Chapel, Dutchess Outreach Food Kitchen, American Heart Association: Little Heart Heroes, Hunter's Hospital: Spirit of Giving, Southington Football Gridiron Club Food Drive, First Congregational Church Apple Harvest Festival Food Booth, and Chapter 126: Wheelchair Rugby and Wheelchair Basketball.
 
In the classroom, Cardillo has been named to the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Rall each of the last three seasons. He is a Psychology/Child Education major
 
This year, there are 175 nationwide nominees across all levels of football for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which recognizes student-athletes and head coaches who are making an impact through community service, academic achievement, and leadership. Established in 1992 and presented by Allstate since 2008, the program honors players who use their platforms to strengthen communities and support causes important to them.
 
The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will be announced in September and include 22 student-athletes and one honorary head coach. One student-athlete will also be selected as team captain and receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
 
The Marist football team is heading into its third season under the leadership of head coach Mike Willis. The Red Foxes open the 2026 season on Friday, Aug. 28 at New Haven, and they begin their six-game home schedule on Friday, Sept. 4 against Franklin Pierce.
