Caroline Baratta will serve as Marist softball captains in the 2020 season. All three were Preseason All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference selections this year.

This will be Oberdorf's second year as a captain, while Milam and Baratta are first-time captains.

Oberdorf has been named to an All-MAAC team in each of three seasons she's played. As a freshman in 2016, she was named First Team All-MAAC, the conference's Rookie of the Year, and was an NFCA Top 10 freshman. She has been named Second Team All-MAAC each of the last two seasons. Her 48 career stolen rank third in program history.

Milam has been a First Team All-MAAC selection and a Second Team All-Region choice each of the last two seasons. In 2018, her 54 runs batted in tied the program's single-season record. She enters her senior season ranked in the top 10 in program history in batting average (.325, seventh), home runs (22, tied for ninth), and runs batted in (111, ninth).

Baratta was MAAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman, and a First Team All-MAAC selection each of the last two years. She has anchored the shortstop position and leadoff spot in the batting order during her two seasons, and is a career .320 hitter with 80 runs scored and 23 stolen bases. Defensively, she set the program's single-season record for assists (264) as a freshman.
The Marist softball team opens its 2020 season this weekend at the Bruin Challenge, hosted by Belmont, in Nashville, Tennessee. The Red Foxes will play four games in three days, starting with a contest against Green Bay on Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern.
