SAN DIEGO, California - #24 Marist water polo had an exceptional day two at the Triton Invitational, earning dominant wins over Villanova and Santa Clara. With the results of the tournament, the Red Foxes placed 13th out of a field of the best teams in the nation.

- The Red Foxes jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first period, and never looked back. The Wildcats were able to cut the lead to as little as three, but Marist pulled away once again with four straight goals to cement the victory.Â
- Kathryn McCullough scored a hat trick in her best outing of the season. The sophomore only missed once against the MAAC foe.
- Viktoria Orlova had another splendid performance with two goals, an assist and a steal. The sophomore has scored in five of her last six games, with multiple goals in four of those appearances.
- Myriam Lizotte kept her rhythm with two goals and a steal against Villanova.
- Anais Mathes matched her last outing with a pair of goals as well.
- Katie Gill had a season-best performance with a goal and an assist.
- Sawyer Alter, India Alter, Lauren Smith, Fallon Burnworth and Jenn Murphy all scored to lift Marist to their dominant victory.
- Marina Hyham guarded the net well, tallying eight saves for a save percentage of .500. The sophomore also recorded a steal.
- The Red Foxes led wire-to-wire over the Broncos, holding them to just two goals in the first half and leading by as many as four throughout the second.
- Orlova kept up her string of strong play with two goals and two steals.
- Shinae Carrington added a pair of her own on the offensive end.
- India Alter, Fallon Burnworth and Carolyn Gauvin each scored and drew an exclusion.
- Anais Mathes, Lauren Smith and Gabi Gervasi all recorded a goal in Marist's second win of the day.
- Marina Hyham had a great showing, stopping eight shots for a save percentage of .533.
The Red Foxes take a weekend off before hosting the
Courtney Fisher Invite on Saturday, February 22. Marist will have a MAAC championship rematch with #20 Wagner, and will also play LIU for the annual Senior Day game.
