POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The best week in Marist Women's Basketball history occurred within a span of six years and across two decades.
By this definition, the week refers to the calendar dates of March 17-22, when the Red Foxes set both Marist and MAAC history with its five NCAA Tournament victories from 2007 to 2012.
The run began in unprecedented fashion with the 2006-07 team, when the Red Foxes notched the first NCAA Tournament win in the program's history, then proceeded to become the first MAAC program to reach the Sweet 16 after its second-consecutive upset. In three of the next five years, the Red Foxes won its first round contest. To this day, the five NCAA triumphs are the most for a MAAC institution.
Though the 2020 Big Dance was sidelined amid the coronavirus outbreak, and the 2019-20 Foxes' chances of collecting the program's 11th MAAC Tournament title cut short, the program has looked to fill the void with mementos of the teams that set the bar for Marist Women's Basketball, turning it into one of the premier powerhouses in the Northeast.
Each day, the program has shared photos and notes from each victory on its anniversary. Check back throughout the week for more content on the four teams that made Marist history.
