ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – Marist head men's basketball
John Dunne was named a Skip Prosser Man of the Year finalist by CollegeInsider.com on Monday.
According to CollegeInsider.com, the award "honors those who not only achieve success on the basketball court but who display moral integrity off the floor as well." This is the second time Dunne has been a finalist for this award. The first occurrence came in 2011.
In the 2020-21 season, Dunne guided the Red Foxes to their first winning season in 13 years. The Red Foxes are the fourth seed in this year's Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship, their best seed in 14 years. This season, he mentored MAAC All-Rookie Team selections
Hakim Byrd and
Ricardo Wright, which marked the first time Marist had two All-Rookie honorees in its 24 years in the conference.

The Marist men's basketball team opens championship play on Thursday night against fifth-seeded Niagara. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m., and the game will be carried live on ESPN+.
