POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team opens play in the quarterfinal round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship on Friday at Monmouth.
The Red Foxes are the #8 seed in the championship, and the Hawks are the top seed. This season, the top eight teams qualify for the championship, with best-of-three series taking place in the quarterfinal round. The four quarterfinal winners will advance to a double-elimination format next weekend, which will be hosted by the highest remaining seed.
Marist and Monmouth will play a doubleheader on Friday, with first pitch of game one set for 1 p.m. If a game three is necessary, it is currently scheduled for Saturday at noon.
