POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist graduate linebacker Mike Arrington was named First Team Pioneer Football League All-Academic on Wednesday.
 
Arrington is the first Red Fox to be named First Team PFL All-Academic since 2019, when Grant Dixon, Jack Griffith, and Andrew McElroy earned the honor.
 
A two-year captain, Arrington was a national semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy and a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection this season. He graduated Cum Laude this past spring after majoring in Communication: Advertising/Public Relations. Arrington is currently pursuing his Master's in Integrated Marketing Communication. He is a three-time Marist Dean's List selection, and four-time PFL Academic Honor Roll selection.
 
On the field in 2022, Arrington led the Red Foxes in total tackles (93) and tackles for loss (10.5). He tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles and had two pass break-ups.
 
Arrington was named First Team All-PFL on Tuesday. He was a Second Team All-PFL selection in 2021.

To be eligible for PFL All-Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale, and have reached his second season academically and played at least one full season at his current school. The awards are voted on by the league's sports information directors.
