POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Maris water polo team will travel to San Diego, California to compete in the Triton Invitational Tournament hosted by UC San Diego on Saturday, February 12
th. Their first of four guaranteed matches is set to start at 3:00 p.m ET against UC Irvine. The opponents to follow will be based off results in the bracket.

- The tournament features four brackets, each with three or four teams. Marist has been placed in Bracket D along with California State University, Northridge (CSUN), University of Hawai'I, and UC Irvine.
- Last time out, Marist competed in the Bruno Classic, hosted by Brown University.
- They went 2-0 in that event, beating Saint Francis PA and Pomona-Pitzer.
- India Alter, Sawyer Alter, and Viktoria Orlova each scored twice across the two games.
- Madeline Schultz scored three goals, raising her yearly total to 9.
- UC Irvine is 4-2 on the year, with big wins coming against #4 Arizona State and #10 Fresno State. Irvine is currently ranked #7 in the country, according to the College Water Polo Association. Marist comes in at #23.
- Last time out, Irvine beat both Azusa Pacific and Concordia by scores of 19-7 and 23-5, respectively.
- Following the Triton Invitational, Marist travels to Santa Clara, California to compete in the Santa Clara Invitational. Their first match is scheduled for February 19th, at 6:20 p.m. ET
