New York ,NEW YORK – The Marist women's track team had a strong conclusion to the MAAC Indoor Track Championships, which had its second and final day of competition at the Armory Track and Field Center. The Red Foxes finished seventh out of nine teams with 18 points.
Once again, senior Hayley Collins led the way. A day after her fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run, she capped her impressive weekend with a personal-best time and sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run, clockin in at 9:55.61, her first time dipping under the 10-minute mark in her career. In total, Collins accounted for half of the Red Foxes' team points on the weekend.
In the pole vault, graduate student Jessica Ippolito placed sixth with a leap of 3.20 meters (10 feet, 6 inches), a week after breaking her own school record in the event.
The meet ended with a pair of solid relay performances for the Foxes, as the 1,600-meter relay team placed fifth and the 3,200-meter relay team placed seventh.
