ANNAPOLIS, Maryland - The Marist men's and women's swimming and diving teams had a strong showing at this year's 2022Â ECAC Championships.

- The men got out to a hot start with Christopher Dauser, Ahmed Sallam, Ethan McCormac, and Devin White breaking the 200 free relay school record, taking home second place.
- Grace Reeves won gold in the 3-meter dive, and also took home diver of the meet on Saturday, capping off a very successful season.
- Madison Sweeney performed well in the 3-meter dive, finishing in 6th place.
- Carson Barry got 8th in prelims for the 1-meter dive.
- Junior Sean Doran came in 15th place for 200 IM.
- Freshman Maddie Healey finished off her first season with a solid showing in the 500 free, placing in 14th.
- Sallam continued his success in the 50-free, coming in 6th place in the finals.
- Veronica Stureborg, Sophia Swanson, Nellie Thompson, and Magaret Hartman placed in 8th place in the women's free relay.
- The women's 4-medley relay placed 9th, which consisted of Stureborg, Molly Hewitt, Melanie Nun, and Thompson. Hewitt's split was incredible in the 100 breast, finishing in just 1:08.1.
- That group would go on to place in 8th in the 200-medlay relay, improving their time from earlier in the day.
- The men's 200 medley relay team broke a school record with a time of 1:29:36, which was good for second place in the event.
- 100 fly Christopher Dauser tied the school record in the 100-fly, finishing with a time of 49:04.
- In the 100-backstroke, Jacob Macrina finished in a personal best 11th place, Dorran finished in 6th which was also a personal best, and Sallam broke the school record finishing in fourth place.
- Stureborg continued her dominant meet, placing 11th in the 100 backstroke and was right on her best time from the 400 medley relay on Friday.
- In the 800 free relay, Swanson, Hewitt, Hartman, and Healey came in 6th, highlighted by Swanson swimming close to her best time of the year.
- In the 200-back, Macrina finished with his best time on the season, enough to give him a 10th place finish.
- Sallam made history in the 100-free, placing in first for the event and setting a new ECAC record.
- The 4x100 free relay team of Sallam, White, McCormac, and Dauser kept bringing in the accolades, breaking the school record with time of 2:59.39 and finishing in third place.
- Stureborg wrapped up a tremendous senior season by finishing in 11th overall in the 200-back.
- The 4x100 free relay team of Hartman, Thompson, Nun, and Nicole Donnelly wrapped up the meet with a solid 6th place finish.
The Marist men finished in 8th place (out of 18 teams), while the women finished the event in 9th place. The men finished with 216 points throughout the weekend, and the women finished with 197 points.
