POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist water polo team is in for an eventful weekend, as the Red Foxes will be playing a total of four games.
 
SCHEDULE
  • Saturday, March 26 @ Iona (9 a.m.)
  • Saturday, March 26 @ Wagner (4 p.m.)
  • Sunday, March 27 vs. Villanova (9 a.m.)
  • Sunday, March 27 vs. La Salle (4 p.m.)
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes won both of their games this past weekend, defeating Siena, 24-10, and beating St. Francis-Brooklyn, 16-11.
  • Madeline Schultz led the scoring, with six goals against Siena, and three against St. Francis-Brooklyn.
  • Other notable performances came from Viktoria Orlova, who had four goals against Siena and three against St. Francis Brooklyn, and Fallon Burnworth, who scored in both games as well.
  • Goalkeeper Marina Hyham had a total of 14 saves over the weekend.
 
SCOUTING IONA
  • Iona College is 10-8 in total and 1-2 in the MAAC. Last weekend, they lost in close games to La Salle and Villanova, 15-14, 19-18 OT, respectively, and they defeated VMI, 14-10.
  • Against the Gaels, the Red Foxes are 32-15 overall, with their last meeting ending in a 14-9 victory for Marist.
  • This season, their point leaders are Jordan Van Reeken (49, 41G 8A), Maeve Ellen Wydan (47, 30G 17A) and Danielle Hernandez (30, 15G 15A).
  • Their overall save percentage is .411.
 
SCOUTING WAGNER
  • Wagner College is 20-3 overall and 2-0 in the MAAC. Last weekend, they dominated against Villanova and VMI, 22-7, 28-12, respectively.
  • Against the Seahawks, the Red Foxes are 13-36 in total, with their last meeting ending in a 12-10 defeat for Marist.
  • This season, the point leaders are Malia Josephson (97, 44G 53A), Sofia Diaz Alvarez (84, 56G 28A) and Abbey Simshauser (78, 51G 27A).
  • Their overall save percentage is .487.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
  • Villanova University is 13-9 overall and 2-1 in the MAAC. Last weekend, they fell to Wagner, but picked up wins against Iona and VMI, 19-18 in overtime, 19-14, respectively.
  • Against the Wildcats, the Red Foxes are 33-4 overall, with their last meeting resulting in a 15-8 victory for Marist.
  • Nova's point leaders are Kaysie Stuba (102, 62G 40A), Stella Byles (72, 49G 23A) and Emily Morrissey (46, 30G 16A).
  • Their overall save percentage is .395.
 
SCOUTING LA SALLE
  • La Salle University is 15-7 overall and 2-1 in the MAAC. Last weekend, the defeated both Iona and VMI, 15-14, 17-6, respectively.
  • Against the Explorers, the Red Foxes are 7-0 overall, with their most recent meeting ending in a 12-11 victory for Marist.
  • Their points leaders are Kalista Hyham (85, 67G 18A), Sarah DeFusco (50, 34G 16A) and Shanna Zuanich (49, 21G 28A).
  • Their overall save percentage is .500.

  • The Red Foxes will have four games again next weekend.
