Marist Water Polo Plays Four Games This Weekend

The Red Foxes Are Busy with Four MAAC Opponents

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's water polo team will play four games this weekend, all against MAAC opponents.
 
SCHEDULE
  • Vs. Iona – Saturday, April 2 @ 10 a.m. 
  • Vs. VMI – Saturday, April 2 @ 3 p.m. 
  • @ La Salle – Sunday, April 3 @ 9 a.m. 
  • @ Villanova – Sunday, April 3 @ 4 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Marist beat Villanova and La Salle at McCann Natatorium during their last day of competition on Sunday, March 27.
  • The Red Foxes won 12-9 over Villanova and 16-10 against La Salle.
  • Madeline Schultz had six goals and India Alter had five goals across the two games.
  • The Red Foxes are now 17-11 on the season.  
 
SCOUTING IONA
  • Marist lost the first matchup against Iona this year by a score of 15-13 on Saturday, March 26.
  • All-time, Marist is 32-16 against the Gaels.
  • The Gaels are 14-8 overall and 5-2 in-conference.
  • Graduate student Jordan van Reeken leads Iona with 67 goals and 27 assists. She has also registered 37 steals on the year.  
 
SCOUTING VMI
  • Marist is 19-1 against the Virginia Military Institute all-time and have won the last eight matchups.
  • Their last win against VMI was a 13-10 triumph in last year's MAAC Championship final.
  • VMI is 3-17 this year and have lost ten in a row.
  • Sydney Shettleroe leads VMI with 47 goals and 11 assists.
 
SCOUTING LA SALLE
  • Marist beat La Salle 16-10 in their first matchup last Sunday.
  • The Red Foxes are 8-0 against La Salle all-time.
  • The Explorers are 17-9 on the year and 14-2 in their last 16 games. They are 4-3 in-conference.
  • Kalista Hyham leads La Salle in points with 85, scoring 67 goals and 18 assists this year.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
  • Marist beat Villanova 12-9 in their first matchup this year.
  • The Red Foxes are 34-4 against the Wildcats all-time and have won the last eight meetings.
  • Villanova is 15-11 this season and 4-3 in-conference.
  • Kaysie Stuba leads the Wildcats with 117 points this season, scoring 72 goals and 45 assists so far.
 
UP NEXT
  • Following the four-game weekend, Marist hits the road to play three games next Saturday against VMI and St. Francis-Brooklyn.
  • Those games are scheduled for April 9 at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. respectively.
