Marist Softball to Host Fairfield & Siena for Doubleheaders

Wednesday's Contests vs. Seton Hall Called Off

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team has re-arranged its schedule for this week.

Marist's Tuesday doubleheader against Fairfield was postponed and moved to Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Red Foxes' scheduled doubleheader against Seton Hall has been canceled. The Red Foxes will then return to action on Saturday with a noon doubleheader against Siena.

About Marist
  • The Red Foxes are currently 16-22 overall and 4-4 in the MAAC.
  • Marist split both of its two conference doubleheaders against Iona and Monmouth last week.
  • The Red Foxes' game one victory against Monmouth on Saturday came by a score of 16-0. Miah McDonald's nine RBIs were the most by a Red Fox since 2017, and Marist had its highest run total since 2018.
  • McDonald leads Marist with 11 stolen bases, and is tied with Caroline Baratta for the team lead with 29 RBIs. Baratta leads Marist in home runs (seven) and runs scored (27).
  • Kiley Myers leads Marist with six wins and a 3.18 ERA. Maddie Pleasants has team highs of 94 innings pitched and 70 strikeouts.
  • On Tuesday, Baratta was named MAAC Player of the Week for the second time this season.
 
About Fairfield
  • The Stags are 10-19 overall and 4-4 in the MAAC.
  • Fairfield has won four straight after sweeping doubleheaders against Monmouth on Friday and Saint Peter's on Saturday.
  • Haley Updegraff leads Fairfield with a .300 batting average and three homers.
  • Katie Kudlacik leads the Stags in wins (four), innings pitched (57.2), strikeouts (40), and ERA (3.40).
    
About Siena
  • The Saints are 18-16 overall, and tied for first place in the MAAC at 7-3.
  • In its last outing on Saturday, Canisius swept a doubleheader at Siena, winning by scores of 3-1 and 2-0.
  • Ava Fitzmaurice is hitting a team-best .369 while also leading the Saints in runs scored (22), stolen bases (four), and triples (three). As a pitcher, Fitzmaurice leads Siena in wins (nine), innings pitched (86.1), and saves (two).
  • Nicole Patille has a team-best 2.60 ERA, and Adriana Romero leads Siena with 63 strikeouts.
  • Siena will play a non-conference doubleheader at UAlbany on Thursday prior to coming to Marist.
