Water Polo Concludes Weekend at Rainbow Invite

Red Foxes Defeated 20th-Ranked Loyola Marymount

MANOA, Hawaii - The Marist water polo team finished its season-opening weekend trip to the Rainbow Invite. The team finished the weekend with one win and two losses.
 
Game One VS Loyola Marymount
  • 25th ranked Marist played 20th ranked Loyola Marymount University in match one of the Rainbow Invite.
  • The Red Foxes won 12-9 against the 20th ranked team in a thrilling season opener.
  • Graduate Student Viktoria Orlova tallied four goals in the win.
  • Sophomore Center Ella Baumgarten scored four goals for the Red Foxes.
 
Game Two VS San Jose State
  • The Red Foxes took on the 13th ranked Spartans in match two.
  • Marist fell to San Jose State 17-11 in a close match.
  • Freshman Utility Paige Naegle tallied two goals in the match. Naegle also recorded a steal against SJSU.
  • Senior Shinae Carrington scored three goals in the match against the Spartans.
 
Game Three VS Hawai'i
  • The Red Foxes took on the sixth ranked Rainbow Wahine in the final match of the weekend.
  • Marist fell to Hawai'i 22-7 in a tough match.
  • Sophomore attack Liana Hunt tallied two goals in the defeat.
  • Utility Victoria Padilla scored two goals in the match.
