Haley Ahr of the Marist softball team was named both Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player and Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.

In the five weeks that Marist has played this season, Ahr has been named both MAAC Player and Rookie of the Week in three of them.

Ahr hit .529 (9-for-17) with a 1.197 OPS (.647 slugging, .550 on-base) as Marist faced high-quality competition in five games at the South Florida Showdown. She drove in six runs, scored one, had two doubles, walked twice, stole a base, and had a sacrifice fly. She hit safely in every game, and had two multi-hit games and two multi-RBI games.

Against Iowa on March 17, she went 4-for-6 with two RBIs. Later that day, she reached safely all three times (2-for-2, walk) and stole a base against #11/9 Texas. She went 1-for-2 with a double, walk, run scored, and RBI in a win over Lehigh on March 18. She closed out the week with three RBIs, a double, and a sacrifice fly against Lehigh on March 19.

Ahr also handled 28 fielding chances (18 putouts, 10 assists) while starting at three different infield positions last week (second base, first base, shortstop) without committing an error.

 On the season, Ahr is hitting .407 with one home run and 28 RBIs in 26 games. She has 10 doubles, seven stolen bases, a .467 on-base percentage, and a .568 slugging percentage.

The Marist softball team returns to action on Wednesday, March 29 when the Red Foxes play a doubleheader at Delaware State. First pitch of game one is set for 1 p.m.
