Marist Softball Returns to Action at Delaware State

Red Foxes, Hornets to Play Doubleheader at 1 p.m. Wednesday

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist Softball team travels to Dover, Delaware on Wednesday to play a doubleheader against the Delaware State Hornets. First pitch of game one is set for 1 p.m.
 
Marist Notes
  • Marist comes off a 1-4 performance at the South Florida Showdown, which included games against nationally-ranked Texas in addition to Iowa, South Florida, and Lehigh. The Red Foxes have not played since March 19.
  • Red-shirt freshman Haley Ahr netted MAAC Player and Rookie of the Week following the tournament, hitting .529 with a 1.197 OPS.
  • Ahr leads the team batting .407 with a team-best 28 RBIs.
  • Four players, Alyssa Grupp, Peyton Pusey, Sam Freeland and Shea Walsh, are tied for a team leading 13 runs.
  • Calista Phippen earned Marist's win in the tournament with a complete game effort against Lehigh in which she struck out eight.

  • The Hornets come into the matchup at 6-13.
  • Delaware State comes off a doubleheader split at South Carolina State.
  • Uxua Modrego Lopez leads the team with a 1.231 OPS.
