POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist softball team is set to open its home and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schedules.

The Red Foxes will host Canisius on Sunday, April 2 for a doubleheader at noon, and Niagara on Monday, April 3 for a doubleheader at 11 a.m.

- Marist is coming off a doubleheader sweep against Delaware State on Wednesday. The Red Foxes won both games by the mercy rule, as they prevailed 10-1 in six innings and then 9-0 in six innings.
- In both games, Marist held Delaware State to one hit. Calista Phippen and Meghan Haff combined to only allow one hit in six innings in game one. In the second game, Maddie Pleasants allowed one hit in six innings.

- Haley Ahr has a team-leading batting average of .407 with a team-best total of 29 RBIs.
- Hannah Brock is second on the team with a .333 batting average and a .841 OPS.
- Peyton Pusey and Sam Freeland are tied for a team leading 16 runs, with Alyssa Grupp and Shea Walsh each with 14.
- Calista Phippen leads the pitching staff in wins (six), ERA (1.89), WHIP (1.24), innings pitched (70.1), strikeouts (68), and batting average against (.236).

- Canisius has a record of 10-11 this year.
- This is the conference opener for the Golden Griffins, who last played on March 22 when they dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Syracuse.
- Saige Alfaro has a team-best .359 batting average.
- Megan Giese leads the team with a 2.92 ERA and a WHIP of 1.28, as well as homers with three and RBIs with 12.
