Women’s Basketball Announces Staff Addition

Nick Volchok Hired as Assistant Coach

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist head women's basketball coach Erin Doughty has announced an addition to her coaching staff. Nick Volchok will serve as the Red Foxes' assistant coach.
 
"We are so excited to have Nick join our staff! He brings great energy and passion and will be a great addition! I have always been so impressed with how his players have improved playing for him and I know he will have a great impact on our skill development and offense! He has extensive connections in the AAU world and will use that to help bolster our recruiting," said Doughty. "Coming off being a part of a championship team, he knows what it takes to win in this league! I know Nick will help keep our program at the top of the MAAC!"
 
Volchok is a graduate of Mercy College who worked as an assistant coach for three years at Iona University. Volchok helped lead the Gaels to the 2022-23 MAAC Championship. While at his time at Iona, Volchok has worked individually with the 2023 MAAC Player of the Year Juana Camilion and responsible for the recruitment of Second team All-MAAC Kate Mager.
 
Volchok is a former collegiate basketball player, a 1000-point scorer and played several years playing professionally over in Europe, the ABA, and the IBL.
 
Doughty is entering her first season as head coach of the Red Foxes in the 2023-24 season. In addition to Volchok, Maggie Gallagher and Kiah Gillespie will return as assistant coachesand Keylantra Langley as the Director of Operations of the Marist women's basketball program.
