POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team heads to the road this weekend for a pair of MAAC doubleheaders. The Red Foxes will take on Rider on Saturday and Mount St. Mary's on Sunday.

About Marist

• The Red Foxes are 19-22 overall and 6-2 in MAAC play. They are coming off a doubleheader split against Big East foe Seton Hall on Tuesday.
• Marist is 11-4 since returning north from their spring break trip.
• Haley Ahr is the MAAC leader in batting average (.405) and doubles (13), and is second in RBIs (39). She has a nine-game hitting streak and an 18-game on-base streak.
• Isabella Manory is the MAAC leader in on-base percentage (.494).
• In Marist's last 12 games, Peyton Pusey is hitting .474 (18-for-38) and Alyssa Grupp is hitting .441 (15-for-34).
• Sam Freeland is hitting .400 (22-for-55) with 22 runs in her last 15 games.
• Maddie Pleasants has driven in a run in seven straight games and has 16 RBIs in her last 12 games.
• Calista Phippen, who won her 50^th career game in her last appearance against Seton Hall on April 18, leads the MAAC in complete games (13) and innings pitched (111), is second in ERA (2.02), tied for second in wins (11), and third in strikeouts (106).
• Marist is 4-0 in MAAC games started by Kiley Myers.
• Marist ranks 21^st nationally in stolen bases per game (2.10).

 

About Rider

• Rider is 12-22 overall and 2-4 in the MAAC. The Broncs have won six in a row and are coming off doubleheader sweeps against Manhattan and Morgan State plus two wins against Monmouth.
• Olivia Burroughs leads the team in batting average (.309) with three home runs, 20 RBIs, a .543 slugging percentage, and a .918 OPS.
• Jadeyn Merrill is second on the team with a .307 batting average, .865 OPS, and 18 RBIs while tying Burroughs for the team lead with three home runs.
• Jessie Niegocki has a 2.81 ERA with a 6-9 record in 18 appearances to go along with seven complete games. In her last three starts, Niegocki is 3-0 with 0.35 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 20 innings. She also leads the Broncs with 19 runs scored and is hitting .277.
• Kathryn Schmierer is second on the team with a 2.88 ERA and 40 strikeouts, and also has seven complete games in 17 appearances (12 starts).

 

About Mount St. Mary's

• Mount St Mary's (24-15 overall, 7-3 MAAC) has currently won five straight, with a win over Saint Peter's plus doubleheader sweeps against Manhattan and Maryland Eastern Shore.
• Prior to facing Marist on Sunday, the Mount will host Siena for a doubleheader on Saturday.
• Mariah Godde leads the team with a .320 batting average. Maggie Kane and Vanessa Martin are tied for first in RBIs with 17. Tori Bowles has a team-best four homers.
• Avery Neuhart is the MAAC leader in ERA (1.65). She is tied for the team lead with eight wins, and has 50 strikeouts against just 11 walks in 85 innings.
• Olivia Murphy is tied with Neuhart for the team lead with eight wins. She has a 2.58 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 65 innings.
