CLAREMONT, California- The Marist water polo team finished its second day of competition at the Convergence Tournament, Saturday afternoon. The Red Foxes defeated Cal Baptist but fell to seventh ranked UC Irvine in the final day of competition.
 

Match One Vs 7 UC Irvine

• After the first quarter of play, the Red Foxes trailed UC Irvine 4-3.
• Going into the half, the Red Foxes were outscored 4-1 in the second quarter.
  • The Red Foxes trailed 8-4 after two quarters of play.
• The Red Foxes were held scoreless in the third quarter of the match.
  • UC Irvine scored five goals in the third quarter and led the Red Foxes 13-4.
• The Red Foxes fell against UC Irvine 15-7 in the first match of the second day of competition.
• Shinae Carrington scored two goals in the match for the Red Foxes.

Match Two Vs Cal Baptist

• The Red Foxes started the first quarter with a 4-3 against Cal Baptist.
• The Red Foxes scored three more goals in the second quarter and took a 7-5 lead into halftime.
• In the third quarter, the Red Foxes outscored Cal Baptist 3-2 and took a 10-7 lead into the final frame.
• The Red Foxes triumphed 10-9 in the final match of the Convergence tournament against Cal Baptist.
• Paige Naegle scored four goals in the win against Cal Baptist.
• Liana Hunt recorded a hat trick in the win against Cal Bapist.
• Inés Sánchez recorded a season-high 18 saves in the win.
