POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The first-place Marist softball team (28-14 overall, 10-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) will open a three-game series at Saint Peter's (15-26, 5-10) on Tuesday.
The Red Foxes and Peacocks are slated to play a doubleheader on Tuesday, followed by one game on Wednesday. First pitch both days is set for noon.
- The Red Foxes are coming off a series victory against Iona this past weekend. The Red Foxes won game one 6-2, fell 1-0 in 10 innings in game two, and rebounded for a 7-1 triumph on Sunday.
- Marist has not lost a MAAC series this season. The Red Foxes have one sweep (Quinnipiac), have won two out of three games three times (Niagara, Mount St. Mary's, Iona), and split a two-game series (Siena).
- This past weekend against Iona, Miah McDonald went 5-for-11 (.455) with a slugging percentage of 1.273. She drove in five runs, scored four, and four of her five hits went for extra bases. This included two home runs in game one, which brought her season total to 14.
- Alyssa Grupp had a .636 on-base percentage in the Iona series.
- Maddie Pleasants tossed a two-hitter and three-hitter against Iona. In the series, she went 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 0.71 WHIP.
- The Peacocks won two out of three at Mount St. Mary's last week. Saint Peter's won game one 7-1, fell 4-3 in game two, and prevailed 13-8 in the series finale.
- Cara McNulty and Jess Forte are tied for the team lead with eight home runs.
- McNulty leads the team with 29 runs driven in.
- Kaitlyn Peters went 6-for-8 against Mount St. Mary's last weekend, and she leads Saint Peter's with a .349 batting average.
- Kristen Brennan leads the Peacocks in wins (seven) and innings pitched (103).
- Marist closes out the home portion of its schedule with a three-game weekend series against Canisius.
- The Red Foxes and Golden Griffins will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. First pitch both days is set for noon.
- Senior Day will be celebrated prior to Sunday's game.
