POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist volleyball's very own Sean Byron has been selected as Team Lead for the boy's U19 National Volleyball Team for the upcoming 2024 Boys U19 NORCECA Continental Championship from May 12 to May 20 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Byron has been the coach of the women's volleyball team at Marist for five years with his sixth year beginning this fall. In his six years of coaching, the Byron lead red foxes have a record of 65-58 with one season only being four games long because of the pandemic.

Byron has a long relationship with USA volleyball and has worked extensively with them. His work for them started in 1994 when he was an intern. Since then, he has been assistant or headcoach on nine summer developmental programs and the national B team. Those teams have a combined record of 46-19.

This role will be Byron's first experience with the A team. As team lead he will work alongside the other coaches and share his expertise with the players, and coach them. Byron is sure to be a great addition to a strong coaching staff and will hopefully help the team gain their third consecutive Pan American cup.
