POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist graduate Patrick Gardner is ready to compete for Team Egypt in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which takes place from July 2-7 in Pireaus, Greece.

Gardner starred for the Red Foxes in the 2022-23 season. He was named First Team NABC All-District, Second Team All-Met Basketball Writers Association, Second Team All-MAAC, and to the MAAC All-Championship Team. He helped lead the Red Foxes to their first berth in the MAAC Championship final in program history. Gardner ranked in the MAAC's top 10 in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, and blocked shots that season.

Gardner then suited up for the Miami Heat's Summer League team in 2023 before signing a contract with the Brooklyn Nets last July. This past season, Gardner averaged 7.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 28 contests with the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League. He shot .500 from the field, .364 from three-point range, and .731 from the free-throw line.

Last summer, Gardner competed for Team Egypt in the FIBA World Cup.
