POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- Head coach of the Marist baseball team,
Lance Ratchford, announced promotions to the coaching staff for the 2025 season.
Mike Coss '18 was promo ted to Associated Head Coach after six years as assistant coach/pitching coach.
Ratchford also announced the promotions of
Ray Sanchez as hitting coach and outfielders assistant coach and
Niko Amory as catchers and operations within the baseball team.
"I would like to take the opportunity today to Congratulate Michael Coss, Assistant Baseball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, for a promotion to Associate Head Coach for Men's Baseball" said Ratchford. "This will be Mike's 6th year on the coaching staff and 10th year overall with the program.
"Mike has worked tirelessly and has given back to the place that helped him grow as a Marist College graduate. Mike has headed our recruiting and led our pitching staff to the top of the MAAC. Mike helped lead the program to a MAAC Championship as a player in 2017, and he has worked to keep Marist baseball to elite status when it comes to Northeast Division 1 College Baseball."
"Mike has handled the ins and outs of the daily duties of our program and will continue to head recruiting and lead out pitching staff. Mike has also made a huge footprint when it comes to our connections to our alumni network. Mike will continue to bridge the gap between past student-athletes to the present."
Coss has been an instrumental part in the development of the Red Foxes since playing on the 2017 MAAC Championship team with the Red Foxes.
Sanchez enters his second season with the Red Foxes as an assistant coach, now taking hitting coach duties into the 2025 season.
Amory continues his Red Foxes career for a second season as assistant coach, and seventh year in the Red Foxes program. Amory played five seasons with the Red Foxes, playing in 154 games .
