Red Foxes Prepare for Boston University Terrier Classic

Men's & Women's Track & Field Set To Compete in the Weekend Event

BOSTON, MA -The Marist men's and women's track & field teams travel to Boston, Massachusetts for the Boston University Terrier Classic at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center for their fifth meet of the season. The Marist women's track and field team will compete on Friday Jan. 31. The men's track and field team will compete on Saturday Feb. 1.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Marist track and field teams raced at the Dr. Sander's Scorcher for their fourth meet of the season from Jan. 24 through Jan. 25, 2025.
  • On the women's side, Parker O'Brien finished third in her heat and 12th overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.77. Julia Zydanowicz finished 14th overall with a time of 2:20.37.
  • In the 3000-meter run Adele Alexander raced a PR in her first meet of the 2025 season with a time of 10:01.21.
  • Alexandra Samperi had Marist's top finish of the day, scoring 9th in the long jump at 5.31 meters.
  • As for the men, Simeon Washington raced Marist's top finish of the day placing second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.59. Reed Dexter was next across the finish line for Marist coming in 13th overall with a time of 51.63.
  • In the 60 meter hurdles Christopher Lynch (10th) gave Marist their second top ten finish with a time of 8.93.
  • In the 800 meter run Matthew Ferreri finished 17th overall with a time of 1:58.56. Miles Chamberlain finished second in his heat and 19th overall with a time of 1:58.68.
  • Simeon Washington had the Marist men's top finish of day two placing 16th in the long jump coming in at 6.28 meters.
WOMEN'S HISTORY AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY TERRIER CLASSIC
  • The last time the Marist women's track and field team competed at the Boston University Terrier Classic was on Jan. 27th , 2024.
  • Stephania Granados led the way for the Red Foxes at the Terrier Invitational. Granados tied a personal record in the 60-meter dash (8.28) which placed 23rd at the Invitational. Granados set a personal record in the 200-meter dash (26.69) and placed 74th at the meet.
  • Julia Kropo set multiple personal bests at the Invitational. Kropo, like Granados, set a personal record in 200-meter dash (26.79) and placed 80th at the meet. Kropo also set a personal record in the 400-meter dash for the Red Foxes (1:01.38).
  • Cailin Horton and Sierra Fisher set personal records in the meet. Horton set a personal record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.73 at the meet. Fisher, in the 1000-meter dash, set a personal record with a time of 3:01.61.
  • Both the men and women's team will be taking a partial squad to the Armory for this meet ahead of their Boston University Terrier Classic.
  • In the mile run, Parker O'Brien and Kayla Hawkins set personal records. O'Brien ran the mile in a 5:02.16 time in the meet. Hawkins clocked in at 5:15.74 at the Terrier Invitational.
MEN'S HISTORY AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY TERRIER CLASSIC
  • The last time the Marist men's track and field team competed at the Boston University Terrier Classic was on Jan. 26th , 2024.
  • Easton Eberwein ran the second-fastest 400-meter dash time in school history as he crossed the finish line in 49.27 seconds, which was good for a 25th-place finish.
  • Amari Mathis placed second in the 60-meter dash prelim with a time of 6.94 and he finished ninth in the final with a time of 6.98 seconds.
  • Gabriel Rodriguez (14:41.22, 10th) secured a top -10 finish with a new personal best and IC4A qualifying mark in the 5,000-meter run. He beat his previous PR by eight seconds and now has the 11th-fastest time in school history.
  • The Red Foxes had three student-athletes secure new personal records in the 800-meter run: Jacob Anderson (1:57.49, 86th), Joseph Logan (1:59.48, 117th), and Marcel Stewart (2:00.54, 126th).
  • Raffi Buchakjian (4:23.57, 191st) and Dennis Love (4:24.75, 202nd) secured new personal records in the mile run.
  • Marist also had two runners secure personal records in the 3,000-meter run: Kieran Donnelly (8:27.90, 85th) and Ryan Wisker (9:05.20, 177th).
 
UP NEXT
  • The teams will be back in action on Friday Feb. 7th , when they will compete at Fastrack National.
  • The event will take place at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
