PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island- The stage is set for the Marist water polo team, as the team begins the 2025 season at the Bruno Classic. The Red Foxes will play five opponents in three days of competition.

Last season, the Red Foxes finished with an impressive 21-16 overall record and a 9-2 MAAC record.

The Red Foxes have two ACWPC All-American Honorable Mentions returning to the roster for the 2025 season. One of the Red Foxes captains, Ella Baumgarten, returns to the Red Foxes after earning the ACWPC All-American honors and a First Team All-MAAC selection. Inés Sánchez also returns in net for the Red Foxes after earning her first ACWPC All-American selection.

 

Day One

• Match One Vs. 12 Indiana:
  • The Red Foxes are set to play 12^th ranked Indiana to begin the 2025 season.
  • Last season the Red Foxes fell to Indiana 13-6 on Feb. 3, 2024.
  • The Hoosiers finished the season at 21-10 overall on the 2024 season.
  • The Hoosiers hold a 16-1 record overall against the Red Foxes.
  • The match is slated for Jan. 31 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

  

Day Two

• Match Two Vs. University of the Redlands:
  • The match will be the first all-time meeting between the two schools.
  • Last season, the Bulldogs finished 7-17 overall on the 2024 season.
  • The match is slated for Feb. 1 at 10 a.m.

 

• Match Three Vs. Villanova:
  • The match will be the first MAAC match of the season for the Red Foxes.
  • Last season the Wildcats finished 21-11 overall and 5-7 in MAAC play.
  • The Red Foxes hold a 38-4 overall record against the Wildcats.
    • In their last meeting, the Red Foxes won a thrilling match 9-8 against the Wildcats on March 17.
  • The match is slated for Feb. 1 at 3:20 p.m.

  

Day Three

• Match Four Vs. 19 University of the Pacific:
  • The match will be the seventh all-time meeting between the Red Foxes and Tigers.
  • The Tigers finished the 2024 season 16-11 overall and 4-3 in the Golden Coast Conference.
    • The Tigers fell to second-seeded Fresno State in the conference semifinals 11-8.
  • Last season, the Red Foxes triumphed in a ranked win 11-10 against the 13^th ranked Tigers.
  • The match is slated for Feb. 2 at 9:50 a.m.

 

• Match Five Vs. La Salle:
  • In the final match of the Bruno Classic, the Red Foxes compete against MAAC foe La Salle.
  • Last season the Explorers finished 15-19 overall and 5-7 in MAAC matches.
  • The Red Foxes hold a 12-0 record all-time against the Explorers.
  • Last season, the Red Foxes defeated La Salle 12-10 in an away match.
  • The match is slated for Feb. 2 at 1:45 p.m.
