POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team is set for five games this weekend in the Battle at the Beach Tournament, hosted by Coastal Carolina.

• Friday, Feb. 14 – Kent State, 9:30 a.m.
• Friday, Feb. 14 – Notre Dame, 2:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 15 – Towson, 11:45 a.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 15 – at Coastal Carolina, 4:45 p.m.
• Sunday, Feb. 16 – Kent State, 9 a.m.

 
Saturday's game against Coastal Carolina will be available on ESPN+. Live stats will be available through StatBroadcast.
 

Great First Week

• Marist went 4-1 at the Texan Classic, with victories over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, McNeese State, host Tarleton State, and Bucknell.
• This is Marist's best start after five games since the 2016 season.
• Following the tournament, Miah McDonald was named MAAC Player of the Week, and Kiley Myers was named MAAC Pitcher of the Week.
  • McDonald hit .625 with eight RBIs.
  • Myers went 2-0 with one save and an 0.57 ERA in three appearances.
• Marist checked in at #15 in the first D1Softball Mid-Major Poll, which was announced on Wednesday.

 

The Opposition

• Kent State is 2-3, with victories over East Tennessee State and UMass last weekend.
• Notre Dame is 3-3, and enters the tournament with three straight victories over #15 Missouri, Penn State, and Bethune Cookman.
• Towson went 2-3 last weekend, with a pair of victories over Youngstown State.
• Coastal Carolina enters this weekend at 3-2. The Chanticleers notched two wins over Creighton and one over Purdue Fort Wayne last weekend.
