SANTA CLARA, California- The Marist water polo team swept the first day of competition at the Bronco Invite, Saturday afternoon. The Red Foxes upset 20
th ranked Pacific 18-16 in the first match of the afternoon. To finish the first day of competition, the Red Foxes defeated CSUN in a thrilling match 10-9.
The Red Foxes improved to 5-4 overall and remain 2-0 in MAAC play.
- The Red Foxes jumped out to an early 6-3 lead at the end of the first quarter against Pacific.
- In the second quarter, the Red Foxes were outscored 5-4 against Pacific but took a two-goal lead into halftime.
- The Red Foxes led 10-8 after two quarters of play.
