Manhattan, New York – Alexandra Samperi broke the program's 60-meter dash record to lead the Marist women's track & field team on day one of the MAAC Indoor Championships on Saturday inside of the Armory Nike Track and Field Center.

The women started the night's first event off strong with two final-round qualifiers and top-ten finishers in the mile run. Adele Alexander (7th) qualified for the finals tomorrow with a time of 5:04.65, as did Parker O'Brien (9th) with a time of 5:05.48. Sierra Fisher (12th) set a new mile PR with a time of 5:11.09.

Madison LaCreta (13th) set a new PR in the 60-meter hurdles, beating her own season-best record with a time of 9.28.

Alexandra Samperi (14th) broke the Marist school record in the 60-meter dash with a PR of 7.89. Alyssa Dapont (25th) and Makenzy Nielsen (27th) followed suit with their own PRs of 8.06 and 8.17, respectively, in the 60-meter dash.  

The 400-meter dash saw two PRs with Kate Beebe (15th) running a time of 1:00.17 and Breelyn McNamara (20th) with a time of 1:00.84.

Julia Zydanowicz (8th) qualified for the finals on Sunday in the 800-meter run, setting a new season-best record for Marist with a PR of 2:18.20

Kyra Pellegrino placed 11th in the 5000-meter run at 17:58.41, beating her previous PR by over 17 seconds.

Isabella Cipolla (26th) set a new PR in the long jump with a distance of 4.81 meters.

Kelly Ballen (20th) beat her season-best record in the high jump with a score of 1.39 meters to wrap up the event for Marist.
